How Tall Are Bathroom Vanities?
If you are remodeling your bathroom, one of the most common things to replace or upgrade is the bathroom vanity. But how tall are bathroom vanity designs?
What are standard bathroom vanity sizes?
Standard bathroom vanity sizes vary based on whether you choose:
- an upright vanity designed to rest under your bathroom sink,
- a design with extra storage on one side or the other of the sink,
- or a bathroom vanity designed to accommodate a his-and-hers-sink with storage in the center
Standard bathroom vanity
A standard bathroom vanity is the single designed upright vanity that rests underneath the sink and has a single cupboard. These vanities are the standard 24 inches wide by 36 inches tall.
Modified vanity for extra storage
For additional storage, bathroom vanities can be found with a single pull-out drawer beneath the sink and a cupboard twice as wide with two doors that open out. These are typically 30 inches wide.
Other designs which provide additional storage include the off center sink design where the sink still rests above the standard cupboard vanity but to the left or right of the sink are a set of drawers. These are typically 36 inches wide.
Then you have bathroom vanities that accommodate the two doors that open outward for the storage in the center, beneath the sink and then two rows of drawers on either side of that sink. These are typically 48 inches wide, 24 inches deep, and still 36 inches high.
Vanities with two sinks
Finally, there are vanities that accommodate two sinks which come in a multitude of combinations depending on the type of storage you want. In most situations the designs include two sinks over double door cupboards very similar to a standard vanity in between which you find a set of drawers. These are typically 60 inches wide but between 22 and 24 inches deep and 36 inches tall.
What is the standard height of the bathroom vanity?
Standard bathroom vanity sizes are 24 inches wide x 36 inches high. This applies to the standard, upright, single sink vanity design listed above. The modified versions listed above almost always have the same standard height, though you might add for a countertop to the vanity which adds one or two inches.
How deep are bathroom vanity designs?
Bathroom vanity designs are approximately 22 to 24 inches deep on average
How tall are bathroom vanity designs?
A bathroom vanity is approximately 36 inches tall on average.
That said, there are plenty of designs which are taller because of the marble or other material on the countertops.
How wide is bathroom vanity with double sinks?
If you choose a bathroom vanity which has two sinks, there is typically a set of drawers in between the two sinks and under the sinks are individual cupboards. For these designs, the standard size is 60 inches wide and 24 inches deep. Effectively, the majority of the changes in different vanity designs impact how wide the design is but not necessarily how tall or deep the design is.
So how big are bathroom vanities?
No matter the design you choose, 36 inches in height is standard for bathroom vanities. The 22 or 24 inch depth is standard as well with the only real modification existing in terms of how wide it is contingent upon how many sinks and how much storage you put into your bathroom vanity.
